Playtime at work

If everybody else had their way, I would be entering my senior year of medical school this coming June. And though I’m in no position to say what my life would be like if I had pursued medicine, I don’t regret not enrolling in UST Med (UST being both my parents’ alma mater from college to med school).

On hindsight, I realize that I had already known what I wanted to do with my life even before high school. When I was a kid, I didn’t play “Doctor, Doctor” and forced my younger sisters to play “Patient, Patient.” If ever we did role-playing that involved a hospital, I wanted to be the patient with the oxygen tubes or something around my nose.

1. Your parents complain that your car has become an extension of your house. You never have to be cold because you have at least two sweaters in the backseat. Should your shoes fail you while renewing your driver’s license at a mall, fret not; you have an extra pair somewhere in the back that you inadvertently left. You will never be thirsty when stuck in traffic because you have a bottle of water sitting on the cupholder near the airconditioner.

My family and I went to see Kaos at Resorts World Manila last night. Prior to watching it, I had no idea what it was about, save for the fact that it has a Cirque du Soleil-esque flavor to it.
I had only seen one Cirque du Soleil show before.
